Overdone: Jean Pocket Edition.

Jean pockets for guys are not a place to showcase personality. As I mentioned before, a man’s style should be simple and clean. Leave the cutesy patterns to the women-folk.
Think classic Levi’s pockets, and that’s it.
Here’s a checklist:
Elaborate flaps over your pockets?
No.
Rhinestones?
(seriously?) No.
Anything that glitters?
No.
Embroidered designs?
No.
Multiple colors of thread?
No.

Here’s a tip (from a personal experience with overdone pockets):
holding a degree in textile and apparel design often leads to requests from friends to alter their clothing. in one such instance a guy friend found the perfect fitting pair of jeans that just so happened to have horribly emblazoned pockets. he brought them to me. i grabbed a seam ripper. after a lot of ripping threads, the decorative stitching was removed. after some ironing and washing, the traces of the stitches were hardly noticeable.
Great point…there is very little that a good tailor (or good friend) can’t do to correct.
